About the course
Prerequisites:
The knowledge and skills that the learner should have before attending this course are as follows:
- Cloudflare Account, sign up
- Complete the following courses in Cloudflare University before the workshop:
- App Security: WAF 101
- Review the Cloudflare Fundamentals
Have a general knowledge of the following:
- Application Performance
- Application Security
Course Objectives:
After you complete this course the learner will be able to meet these overall objectives:
- Deploy, accelerate and secure web applications
- General understanding of the Cloudflare, architecture and portfolio
- Ability of general troubleshooting for most common issues
Course content
Day 1:
- Presentation of Cloudflare, architecture, and portfolio
- Presentation of Services: L7 DDoS protection, WAF, SSL/TLS, and DNS
LAB:
- Dashboard presentation (Account level, Zone level, RBAC)
- Zone Onboarding (Full/CNAME)
- SSL/TLS configuration (different types of certificates to deploy)
- WAF configuration (Managed Rulesets, Custom Rules, RL)
- Analytics: Investigation (different attacks can be simulated)
- Troubleshooting (most common issues)
Day 2:
- Summary of the first day, Q&A
- Presentation of Services: CDN, Load Balancing, and Bot Management
LAB:
- CDN (Configuration, Analytics, Default Behavior)
- Rules (Cache, Transform)
- Load Balancing (*** in the case of 2 origins)
- Bot Management (Analytics, known bots list, and WAF rules to stop malicious activity generated by the bots)
- Troubleshooting (most common issues)
